SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS) – Nearly 200 food and drink vendors are expected to be at the New York State Fair, according to the New York Department of Agriculture.

Vendors from across New York and the United States will be serving patrons.

The festival celebrates its 145th year, making it the oldest running state fair in the United States.

Syracuse locals cite food options as what brings them back every year.

“It’s tradition to get some baked potatoes,” Kaelyn Hoppe said. “I used to work at this place at the fair called Harans. They have these delicious Irish egg rolls.”

In a recent survey completed by review service Yelp, the New York State Fair ranked fourth among the 50 state fair food options.

“It’s just an experience to get all the food,” Justin Prager said. “It’s the only reason to really go nowadays.”

The 145th annual New York State Fair will run from August 26 to September 7.
