
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – As the calendar flips to March, its time for Downtown Dining Weeks in Syracuse. For those who don’t know, the event takes place from March 1 to March 14. It’s a time where local restaurants offer discounts to all customers.
People can get lunch for $15 dollars or less, and dinner for $40 or less.
This is the 21st time Syracuse is having downtown dining weeks. While some people might not think so, the influx of people is great for the local businesses.
According to MacKenzie, a team leader at Cake Bar, the restaurant tends to fill up at during the evening. She also believes that Cake Bar is a great place to go during the Dining Weeks.
“We have such an open space where we can allow students to study. We also have such wide hours. So you can have that late night session of studying with getting a coffee to get you through late night studying and projects,” said MacKenzie.
Another restaurant that benefits from Downtown Dining Weeks is the Whiskey Coop. The restaurant just opened in August and has a lot to offer. According to co-owner Cheryl Chaif, Downtown Dining Weeks in Syracuse have a leg up on everyone else.
“Downtown Syracuse Dining Weeks is one of the best dining weeks, quite frankly. We’ve seen a lot of them in other places and none of them are run as efficiently as this one. It brings a lot of people to Downtown Syracuse and its a great boost for all of the local businesses,” said Chaif.
Downtown Dining Weeks take place from March 1 to March 14. During the event, local restaurants offer deals to all customers.
