Dewitt, N.Y. (NCC News) — Kathleen Brandt, 62, said that she has voted in every election since she was 18.
“I’m really excited to see politicians and other people in government utilizing digital media in a way that we haven’t seen in a very long time, being innovative like this,” said Brandt.
According to Brandt, who teaches courses at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, the importance of media literacy should be emphasized more in the K- 12 education system.
“It’s just it’s been powerful, and it’s sad to see mainstream media be so not innovative, so I think we’re really lucky,” Brandt said. “I also have been really excited to see Gen Z voters being active, for sure — it’s really exciting “
