SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) —For local people in the area, this time of year might not mean much. However, for some restaurants that’s not the case. Why?
Well, the ninth-annual Best Burger competion is underway in New York. What makes the contest even better is that according to Syracuse.com, 11 of the 13 finalist are located in Syracuse.
One of those places is Ale ‘n’ Angus Pub, and according to owner Brennan McCann the competion is very beneficial for local business.
“It’s great to have everyone partake in competition. Even if it’s just on the voting aspect, just to be able to compete, you know you love seeing the outpouring of support you get from people who find your food great,” said McCann.
Now, Ale’n’ Angus pub is not the only restaurant to be nominated here in Syracuse for the best burger. Another place is Jake’s Grub & Grog located in Brewerton. According to to their owner Jake Burgett, the recognition is good for the town.
“Well it’s great because there’s three restaurants in town that are also nominated so it means that our food scene is growing here in Brewerton which is important to all the local people, you know more than anything, all the local restaurant owners. For us it’s just about notoriety, knowing that people from Syracuse can come out here and enjoy food as well,” said Burgett.
