SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Syracuse women’s basketball is offering young fans more than just a game day experience this Sunday. The All-Star Food Fest, a pregame event at the JMA Wireless Dome, aims to engage children 12 and under through food, culture, and a closer connection to the student-athletes they cheer for.

The event begins at 3 p.m. ahead of the Orange’s game against Boston College. Young fans will have the opportunity to sample foods from eight countries, handpicked by Syracuse players to represent their home nations. The menu includes sausage rolls from Australia, rasta pasta from Jamaica, and poutine from Canada.

While the food itself is an attraction, the greater goal is fostering a deeper connection between young fans and the Syracuse community. Aidan Zaicek, an avid SU basketball fan and a current intern with Orange United, emphasized how events like this help build the next generation of Orange supporters.

“Getting kids involved beyond just watching the game is huge,” Zaicek said. “It’s not just about basketball— it’s about feeling part of something bigger. This event gives them a chance to connect with the athletes on a personal level and explore different cultures at the same time.”

Each child will receive a VIP pass and passport to learn more about the backgrounds of the student-athletes. The first 50 children to attend will also have the chance to meet author Sarah Thomas of Kalamata’s Kitchen and receive a signed copy of her book.

The All-Star Food Fest leads directly into the Orange’s Senior Day celebration, where Syracuse will honor its departing players. Tickets for the game, which include free access to the Food Fest for children 12 and under, are now available.
