SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Eva’s European Sweets will be featured on Guy Fieri’s iconic show for the second time. The business was the first place to serve authentic Polish food in the Syracuse area, and they have noticed more business ever since their first segment aired in 2013.

“[Guy Fieri] is going to places that he’s visited before to see if they are still existing or not or if they’re doing good or not…We are still here. We have very good followers and very good customers who have been with us since the beginning,” said Eva Zaczynski, owner of Eva’s European Sweets.

The reason the restaurant has beaten the test of time, other than its mouthwatering food, has been its family culture with each other and the customers they serve. Gary Stegle, who has worked as a server at the establishment for the past 11 years, said he’s built tight bonds with the staff and even the customers.

“You definitely have people that aren’t just customers. They’re more like friends,” said Stegle.

While the restaurant has a group of returning customers, they still get chances to serve excited newcomers. Harold Evans and Linda Caswell are locals who saw the restaurant online.

“I’m so excited to try the food,” said Evans after they ordered.

After receiving their food Evans, and Caswell couldn’t stop praising it.

“I’m a picky eater, but this is awesome,” Caswell said while trying a potato pancake.

Zaczynski and her restaurant’s second segment is set to air Feb. 28 on the Food Network.
