Martin Pine: “319 give or take a few are actually registered, that’s over 50,000 more than we usually have.”
Adam Thomson: Voter registration isn’t the only thing that differed this year, Pine explains how campaigning was unconventional for this election.
Martin Pine: “Campaigning starts around Labor Day in New York, usually, well this year, we weren’t even on July 4th and they were already coming out looking at us, it’s like c’mon give us a break, it’s just been getting worse ever since.“

NORTH SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Election Day in Central New York brings thousands of voters out to perform their civic duty and cast their ballot. Nearly one third of Onondaga County voters voted early in this election.
Martin Pine, the polling place manager for the North Syracuse Community Center, said that they had around 50,000 more registered voters in this election. He said this jump in voters can be attributed to the polarization of this election and the unconventional campaigning that took place.
“Campaigning starts around Labor Day in New York, usually, well this year, we weren’t even on July 4th and they were already coming out looking at us,” Pine said.
For those who still need to vote, polling places across Onondaga County close at 9pm.
