DEWITT, N.Y. (NCC News) — The Town Board of DeWitt was planning to vote on a proposal that would limit the number of licensed pets permitted to live in a household this Monday.

However, the decision has been delayed, as town residents are disgruntled with the propsal.

Currently, five licensed pets are able to be in a single household. The new proposal was aiming to lower that to three.

The Town Board is still in favor of changing the law, but the pushback from the DeWitt community motivated the vote to be pushed back to a future meeting.

It’s to be determined when the proposal will next be heard, or if the outcry will impact the decision any further.
