Young Child being chased by a 54 year old man
Albany, NY (NCC News)- Recently in Albany, New York, a young child was allegedly followed by a man in a car. The man has been identified as Robert Duncan, 54. Duncan was accused of chasing the child who was on a bike. Officials say that the man nearly hit the child with the car, while trying to follow the kid.
Robert Duncan has been accused of endangering a child by the Albany police department. Duncan was arrested soon after police saw the incident occur.
Duncan told the troopers that he was only following the child because he believed that the juvenile had stolen something from him and he was trying to get the item back. There has been no confirmation or denial if this item exists.
Parents in the Syracuse area are fearful of what this could mean for their children’s futures. Many parents are reaching out to others to make more connections in order to know where their kids are at all times.
Fayetteville resident, Randy Wenner, urges people to keep an eye on their children.
“Any parent needs to be on the lookout for dangers both, real world and online and do whatever it takes to make sure their children don’t fall victim to those dangers,” he said.
Whereas other parents believe that this isn’t anything that hasn’t previously happened.
Mattydale resident, John Segal, said that people are overreacting.
“I just don’t really think that the things we are seeing on the news is something that is new, ” he said. “People are just seeing it more.”
There have been no injuries reported.
Robert Duncan has been arrested for first-degree reckless endangerment of a child.
