SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS) – Lindsay Mastrogiovanni and Liz London met shortly after London moved to the Syracuse community and the two instantly bonded over their background in business and their niche passions: Mastrogiovanni’s being spirituality readings like tarot cards, and London’s being belly dancing. Both have extensive careers in the business world but wanted to find a way to combine their passions with their businesses.
This is when they got the idea to start a holistic center in the community where they could help women with business coaching, getting in touch with their own passions outside of work, and provide spiritual readings, dance classes and many more activities that would allow for women to combine their passions with their careers.
As much as Mastrogiovanni struggled with incorporating passion and work together, she has seen many others struggle with it too.
“There’s this group of people, women in particular, that feel kind of alienated from being able to express their true selves and really practice their spirituality in the terms of business,” she said.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment rate in Syracuse has been on a steady decrease since July.
Mastrogiovanni built this idea with the hopes of training women how to be successful entrepreneurs and business owners, increasing the job rate in the community.
“Through good leaders we have good businesses who produce more economy, the local economy specifically, and also they help be able to employ the rest of the community as well” she said.
The holistic center is set to open Feb. 19.
