AUDIO TRANSCRIPT: The third annual Creekwalk Mile Marketplace returns this week

Jazaleen Salinas, Reporter: “Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Recreation Chris Abbott says the fairly new marketplace shows the special pathways around the creek.”


Chris Abbott, Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Recreation: “We saw the market as a way to introduce people to this new stretch of creekwalk and bring people out on a beautiful fall Saturday to get some physical activity.”

Jazaleen Salinas, Reporter: “This one-day event offers sample wellness classes, goods and services of local vendors and non-profits. Deputy Abbott says the market is a great way to connect with neighboors, and hopes that the community visits the creekwalk anyday.”

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — The third annual Creekwalk Mile Marketplace will return this week to the community to showcase a gem, the Onondaga Creekwalk. The Onondaga County Parks Department hopes to promote wellness and community relationships.

Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Recreation Chris Abbott said the fairly new marketplace will
show the special pathways around the creek.

“We saw the market as a way to introduce people to this new stretch of creekwalk and bring people out on a beautiful fall Saturday to get some physical activity,” he said.

The one-day event will offer sample wellness classes, goods and services of local vendors
and non-profits. Abbott said the market is a great way to connect with neighboors,
and hopes that the community visits the creekwalk anyday.
