Over a course of time, the city of Syracuse has been delaying residences trash. The Police Department has been receiving complaints regarding the issue and are asking residents to stop. A desk officer at the Syracuse Police Department, who asked to not be identified, says.

” Why call the police about something that is happening with the trash, when the Mayors office actually runs the D.P.W which actually picks up the trash. And I ask this because I am a homeowner. So it is like why do we ask the police. “

Syracuse Residents will hopefully start to stop calling The Police Department about the trash pickup. As Spring is in the air, the issue is being seen all over the city since the snow is gone. In the meantime, residents are coming together and cleaning up the trash.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) —The Syracuse Police Department has been receiving complaints regarding a trash issue across the city of Syracuse.
Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh has not fixed the issue regarding trash pick up and citizens of Syracuse are calling the Police Department. The Department is asking residences to stop calling about trash complaints.

The trash pickup has not been solved but it is clear the Police Department do not handle the disposal of the city’s trash.
