SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Some elections hit too close to home and Syracuse native Kevin Savine knows just how much important decisions from D.C. affect his home in Central New York.

“Quality of life for Americans citizens,” said Savine. “Whether that be civil liberties, being on a level playing field for everybody.”

Savine, 35, was born and raised in Syracuse and works as a technical recruiter at ISSI Technology Professionals. He has voted in every election since he was in college at 18. This year, he cast his ballot at the Elmcrest Children’s Center with his wife and child.

One thing that he thought a lot about was the state of the economy.

“Things potentially getting more expensive or less expensive, depending on the route that any particular candidate or policy leads too,” he said.

Kevin knows the importance to vote in elections like this, as many people have struggles to make it to the ballots.

“A lot of people haven’t always been able to have the liberty to vote,” he said. “Whether it’s been specific demographics in the past, so defiantly a sense of pride.”
