SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News)  — Businesses on Marshall Street are preparing for the biggest weekend in the Syracuse men’s basketball season.

The Syracuse vs. Duke men’s basketball game is one of the busiest weekends for Marshall Street vendors. Manny’s, a Syracuse memorabilia store, is preparing for the influx of customers this weekend. Manny’s general manager Mike Theiss said he is excited to see people back after a few years of pandemic restrictions. He also said the Duke game has historically been extremely busy for local businesses.

“Normally for a weekend basketball game we’re busy Saturday, for Duke, we’ll be busy Friday, Saturday and Sunday,”  Theiss said.

Theiss also said Manny’s was struggling during the holiday season because of national supply chain issues. A shipment the store made to arrive in time for Christmas did not arrive in time; however, it arrived in time for this weekend’s game.

“In the past, normally you place an order and it’ll only take three or four weeks to get, now it’s taking three to four months,” Theiss said. “We ordered a lot of extra product and it’s all hitting now. We’re stocked up and ready for this weekend.”
