SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS)– A professor at Syracuse University has died Thursday morning after getting hit by a bus, according to Keith Kobland, a Syracuse University spokesman. Kobland reports Professor Elliot Lewis crossing the street at the corner of Waverly and University Avenues when a Connective Corridor bus drove through the intersection and hit him.
Elliot was 57-years-old. He was a professor of Broadcast and Digital Journalism at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Lewis joined the staff in 2018.
Elliot was an East Syracuse resident. He has gained a reputation for previously working as a reporter, fill-in-anchor, newscast producer, and nationwide television station correspondent, according to Syracuse University. Elliot did not have a partner or children.
