Syracuse, N.Y. (NCC NEWS) – Tuesday’s weather is projected to be the warmest presidential election day in Central New York since 1936. The current record is 72 degrees, but it could rise to 77 degrees later today, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
This comes as a result of the far north position of jet streams closing off cold air, according to AccuWeather. Just two years ago, the daily record high for Nov. 5 was 77 degrees. 58 degrees is the average high temperature.
With less than a 5% chance of rain, Tuesday is expected to be primarily sunny. However, it will be windy, with gusts of up to 22 mph and consistent winds of 13 mph.
