The Parade of Homes is back with the latest from CNY builders and developers.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – The annual Parade of Homes began its ten day run today at the “Old Town Estate” neighborhood in Onondaga. The event, which was delayed a month after some of the homes were not finished in time, serves as a showcase for some of the region’s best builders and the latest Central New York homes have to offer.

Jeremy Doran, co-owner of Stone Hammer Homes, said opening day was a bit of a mixed crowd.

“Most people come just to pass the time. Some people are coming for renovation ideas. Some people are coming for decorating ideas. And then there’s the select few that are looking to buy a house at the event or meet a future builder here, he said.”

As for the building of the homes, Doran said that supply chain issues and labor shortages are the main reason for the delay of this year’s Parade of Homes.

Mary Thompson, Executive Director of the Home Builders and Remodelers of Central New York, says to come, and even if you don’t stay for the homes, you should stay for the fun and events.

“We do, kind of mini events. Tomorrow night we have the Horndogs playing. We have street entertainment. We’re kind of doing a block party,” she said.

Every night of the ten-night event is a themed night. Thompson noted Ladies Night and the TGIF party as year over year hits.

Advance sale tickets are available online through the end of the week for $12. Tickets purchased at the event will cost $15.
