Bailee: Burnett Street might be quiet now. But not for long. Blues artists Brandon Santini made a stop at the 443 social club to perform for a sold out audience guess sang and danced along to Santis’s melodies all night, something that is strongly encouraged.

Brandon: I want them to feel the music. I want them to forget about, you know what’s out the doors, whatever they’ve been going through, and we just want to make people smile. We love it when people dance.

Bailee: Santini started playing his harmonica at 15 years of age. He credits a particular 90s band for getting him into the instrument.

Brandon: And there was a band called Blues Traveler, and they were really popular they incorporated harmonica like I’d never heard before.

Bailee: Santini might hail from North Carolina, but he’s definitely a world traveler. From Egypt to England all the way back here to Syracuse.

Brandon: There’s a lot of great places we’ve been able to get to. I’m so fortunate.

Bailee: Santini is spreading the gospel of blues wherever he can, and crowds are receptive to what he’s putting down. Everyone needs a chance to forget about real life and let the music set you free. In Syracuse, I’m Bailee Marie Tucker, NCC News.

Syracuse, N.Y. (NCC News) —  The 443 Social Club in Syracuse was filled with heart and soul last Friday night. Blues artist Brandon Santini played there for a sold out crowd who hung onto his every word.

Folks sat around the stage to eat, drink and dance to the sound of Santini and his band. Santini says seeing his audience enjoy the performance is why he gets up on stage every night.

“I want them to feel the music. I want them to forget about, you know what’s out the doors, whatever they’ve been going through,” Santini says. “And we just want to make people smile. We love it when people dance.”

Older couples slow danced to the sound of Santini’s smooth vocals, while younger fans bobbed their heads to the riff of his harmonica.

Santini draws inspiration from bands such as the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. However, it was a nineties band that inspired him to even purchase his own harmonica back when he was 15 years old.

“There was a band called Blues Traveler, and they were really popular.” says Santini. “They incorporated harmonica like I’d never heard before.”

Blues Traveler guided Santini to his local music shop, and as they say, the rest is history.
