SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Halloween weekend is a big deal here at Syracuse University, one of the biggest party schools in the nation.

With temperatures expected to reach a record breaking 80 degrees this year, students are looking forward to staying warm in their costumes.

According to the United States National Forecast, high temperatures could approach daily records in some Northeast cities.

Syracuse student, Michaela Flood, says that the warm weather will be good for everyone.

“I think everyone’s gonna love that it’s warm, because we’re used to in previous years being freezing in these tiny little outfits. So I think for costumes, it’s definitely good,” Flood said.

However these unusually high temperatures strike a concern for some partygoers.

Another student, Ellie Rockoff, says she is worried about how abnormal this is.

“Selfishly, I’m like yes, it’s warm, but also like it really shouldn’t be warm. I shouldn’t be happy that it’s warm, because it’s so abnormal,” Rockoff said.

After Halloween, the weather will drop back to normal fall temperatures.
