Kyra Wood, NCC News Reporter: The CNY Women’s Network kicks off natinal wellness month with their first wellness fest in collaboration with Aqua Spa Float Center in Oswego, New York. This event came to life after Founder Alex Canavan wanted to give women of Central New York a day to focus on their health and truly take care of themselves. Marketing Correspondent Aryal Smith says they hope their reach goes beyond the Syraccuse community.

Kyra Wood, NCC News Reporter: Canavan, who founded this company in 2022, gives women the spaces to have a community to not only work on their health, but their connections too.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — August is national wellness month and CNY Women’s Network has the perfect event to kick off the month.

Hosted by CNY Women’s Network and Aqua Spa Float and Wellness Boutique, CNY Women’s Wellness Fest is a full day retreat focused on wellness, self-care and recovery.

The collaboration with ths Spa center was intentional says Marketing Correspondent Aryal Smith. With the location based in Oswego, the company hopes to reach women all over Central New York with their events and services, not just Syracuse.

“So, we’re really excited to continue to expand our community and welcome in women from all over even if they’re not based in Syracuse.”

Founded in 2022 by Alex Canavan, the goal of the company was to give women the spaces and community to grow with, says Smith.

“It’s just a community of women who support each other and empower each other and help each other towards their goals. Through the different events that we host, we’re really focused on personal and professional development.”

The ticketed event will happen this Saturday, August 9 from 9 – 4 p.m.

Smith hopes that the event marks the beginning of something great for the women of Central New York.
