SYRACUSE, NEW YORK (NCC News)— The Everson Museum in Syracuse has officially kicked off the holiday season with the enchanting Festival of Trees and Lights, a captivating spectacle transforming the space into a tapestry of festive dreams.

Liz Herrick, president of the Members Council, shared the inspiration behind this breathtaking holiday exhibit. “Light factors into many religious and holiday celebrations in various cultures. The emphasis on light embraces all those cultures, and we try to represent the community,” she said.

The Festival of Trees and Lights is not just a visual feast. It’s an experience that weaves together stories, emotions and cherished memories of the holiday season. Each tree is a unique tale; every light is a beacon of holiday spirit.

Patty Miller, former president of the Members Council, the motivation behind hosting this spectacular festival lies in the cherished memories of Christmas joy and creativity.”My memory and probably what motivates me is my dad. Christmas became a time where his creativity just blossomed,” she shared.

“Almost makes me teary-eyed. Back when I was a child, we always celebrated Christmas Eve. My parents would wake my brother and me up in the middle of the night, and we would eat dinner at midnight,” Herrick said.

Each ornament adorning the festival’s trees holds a unique story. Every decoration resonates with profound emotion, from an explosion of pink holly to ceremonial trees.

The Festival of Trees and Lights is not merely an exhibit. It’s a blend of laughter, remembrance and the cherished warmth of family. It invites the community to come together and celebrate the holiday season magically and meaningfully.
