Baldwinsville Public Library saw more service as a library than as a polling place

Many people came today to exercise their right to vote. It was fairly busy with the occasional short line forming. While many came to the library to vote, some people had voted early like Nancy Landon, a retired teacher, and just came by to return library books.
I voted early assuming there would be a crowd and if there was any kind of conflict, I wanted to try to avoid that at the polling stations on election day. I think the only voice we have is our vote.
Voting early allowed Nancy to avoid crowds and any potential problematic situations. She doesn’t like how divided American citizens have become.
I think too many people complain and don’t get involved and try to make things better. There’s just too much divisiveness and anger. I’m just hoping that if we voice our opinions maybe we can resolve all this and become more united.

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (NCC News) — Many people have already voted in Onondaga County leading to many polling places having a lower turnout. At Baldwinsville Public Library, some people who stopped by were returning to check out books.
Nancy Landon, a retired teacher, said she voted early to avoid crowds and potential conflicts with other voters.
“I think too many people complain, don’t get involved, and try to make things better,” said Landon. “There’s just too much divisiveness and anger. I’m just hoping that if we voice our opinions maybe we can resolve all this and become more united.”
The few times lines formed was due to poll workers checking people in and many people arriving at once.
There were many voting partitions available and voters went through the scanners quickly, receiving the iconic, “I Voted” sticker on their way out.
