SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS) – Clinton Square Ice Rink has been welcoming skaters since the 1990s and is now open for the 2022 – 2023 Winter Season. Skaters can take the ice seven days a week between the hours of 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday with extended hours over the weekend. Skater Kiera Bauman could not be more excited to be back on the ice.
“I usually go here every year at least 7 times a year when it’s open. I love skating here. I think it’s really pretty with the tree. We went to the tree lighting and it’s so pretty here,” Bauman said.
The Clinton Square Ice Rink is also the only outdoor rink that the City of Syracuse operates that is right in the center of downtown Syracuse. Skater Angelina Polcara said skating gets her outside when it’s cold.
“I mean there’s nothing else really to do in Syracuse outside other than this so it’s nice that Clinton Square has this and t’s fun to go with friends and stuff,” Polcara said.
Admission is 5 dollars for adults and 3 dollars for seniors and children with skate rentals also only costing 5 dollars regardless of age. The outdoor ice rink is expected to remain open until the spring.
