It’s that time of year again, Syracuse University students have something to look forward to as University Union officially announced the performers for Block Party 2026.

Since 2003, University Union has hosted its annual Block Party concert, bringing some of the hottest artists of the time to campus. Students pack into the JMA Wireless Dome for one night of live music that energizes the entire university.

Sophia: Since 2003, University Union has hosted their annual Block Party concert, bringing in the hottest artists of the time. Students gather in the dome and jam out together for one night that turns the music up throughout campus. University Union member Parisa Nosrati spoke on her excitement for this year’s Block Party artist.

Parisa: I’m excited to see Ross Lynch. I feel like Block Party is like so heavily like advertised and everybody wants to go, so I’m excited. Also, I get free tickets, which I’m super excited for. So yeah, I’ve heard great things.

Sophia: This year is full of nostalgia and that’s not stopping at University Union’s Block Party. The crowd wants more and the students are definitely bringing the thunder with this wellknown childhood star, Ross Lynch, who is performing this year. And let’s say it’s definitely not the first time we’ve had some well-known singers perform at this event. In the past, artists like Snoop Dogg, Kanye, Fergie, Drake, SZA, and Role Model have taken the stage at SU, but it doesn’t stop there. Gucci Mane, Kesha, Chance the Rapper, and more are just some of the performers at the Block Party since 2003. I talked with Lachlan Sartison on some of the most memorable Block Party moments.

Lachlan: All the artists at the end of the show all get together for a big photo with everyone
involved, which is always very cool. Every artist that we’ve met, every artist that’s come through University Union and Syracuse has been very nice and very thoughtful, and they recognize that this is a student organization, but it’s a really well-run student organization, and it’s been really rewarding to meet those people as well.

Sophia: Some of the biggest artists today have performed in front of SU students at one time, and it continues on April 24th. You have the chance to be a part of future Block Party history as The Driver Era, Rayvn Lanae, and Snow Strippers take the stage at the JMA Wireless Dome. I’m Sophia O’Brien, NCC News.

Serious buzz is being generated by this year’s lineup, headlined by The Driver Era, fronted by childhood star Ross Lynch. Ravyn Lenae and Snow Strippers are playing alongside the headliner. The nostalgia factor is running high ahead of the April show date, with many SU students who grew up watching Lynch on screen on Austin and Ally, before his music career took off.

Block Party has a history of landing major names before and after we see their names on billboards. Past performers have included:

  • Snoop Dogg (2005)
  • Kayne West (2006)
  • Fergie (2008)
  • Drake (2010)
  • Kendrick Lamar (2013)
  • Ke$ha (2013)
  • Chance the Rapper (2016)
  • Gucci Mane (2018)
  • SZA (2018)
  • Role Model (2025)

The upcoming concert is on April 24th, 2026, at the JMA Wireless Dome. Tickets are $20 for SU/ESF students; the performance starts at 6:00 PM.
