Two legends are coming to Syracuse, Billy Joel and Sting will join each other on stage at the JMA Wireless Dome on April 11th, 2025. For Joel this is his eighth time performing at the Dome and for Sting it will be his first time at the one-of-a-kind venue.

An iconic venue for iconic artists. That is something Sting nor Billy Joel are unfamiliar with.

Joel wrapped up his 10 year residency at Madison Square Garden in July. With hits like “Vienna” and “Piano Man”, Joel is the sixth best selling recording artist and the fourth best selling solo artist.

As for Sting, he wrapped up his Las Vegas residency in 2023.  The Englishman and former member of ‘The Police’, has set himself apart with an additional 11 Grammy Awards, two Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, four Oscar nominations as a solo artist.

For Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer, Pete Sala, this lineup is bigger than he could have imagined.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” Sala said. “I’m very, very happy to have the two of them play here together. It means a lot. I mean, it’s very, very special. It’s the only venue of its kind on a college campus in the country.”

From a college football arena, to college basketball, to hosting some of the largest concerts in central New York, the JMA Wireless Dome is a venue built for all shapes and sizes.

Former NFL and Syracuse football player Don McPherson was in attendance on Thursday’s unveiling of the event. McPherson spoke highly of the venue, whenever he returns to his alma mater he’s reminded: there’s no place like Dome.

“The Dome is just such an iconic building in New York State,” McPherson said.

However, although the Dome finds itself within Syracuse University, these types of events make a larger impact beyond campus.

“For those of us who are older, vintage, those guys are our, our our, you know, those were our rock and roll guys.,” McPherson said. “And so, I think it’s going to be a big boost for the community that really identifies with that music.”

Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning on Friday, October4 at 9 AM EDT at LiveNation.com. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Monday, September 30 at 10 AM EDT until Thursday, October 3 at 10 PM EDT.
