(Andrew Watson: Reporter) Spiders, ghosts and dinosaurs have taken over Long Branch Park in Liverpool. But do not be alarmed, it is just the return of the Spooktacular Stroll. The half-mile loop is Central New York’s not so scary Halloween Experience. It is led by the event coordinator, Morgan Bicknell.

(Morgan Bicknell) So my events team over at Galaxy Media, we are the company that puts on Spooktacular Stroll. Unfortunately, we are a small team, there’s only seven of us. So we have been working hard, we’ve been out here every day for the past few weeks. It’s a lot of work but it’s worth it to see all of the smiles on the kid’s faces.

(Andrew Watson: Reporter) The Spooktacular Stroll also has opportunities for fundraising. Last year, the event raised close to $1,000 for local groups. Galaxy media works closely with many organizations and PTOs from various schools to be a part of the event.

(Morgan Bicknell) I generate a specific code for each group. And for each ticket that is sold using the group’s coupon code, $5 from each ticket will get donated back to that school or group or PTO.

(Andrew Watson: Reporter) The event staff begins with an entirely blank slate, leaving it ip to them to create something special for the community. Carrie Wojtaszek, who is the chief operating officer at Galaxy Media believes that the hard work of her team is what brings the community together.

(Carrie Wojtaszek) It’s a great community event, we got all sorts of families to come in, and it truly is a labor of love. We come down here to beautiful Long Branch Park and there’s really no power here. We start, its a completely bare slate, we have a paved path. We bring in all of our power, all of the themed areas, all the lights, all the generators.

(Andrew Watson: Reporter) Each night has a special theme, starting with dog-o-ween on Thursdays, family nights on Fridays and Saturdays and concluding with treats on the trail every Sunday. The Spooktacular Stroll happens every Thursday through Sunday, until Oct. 27. From Long Branch Park here in Liverpool, Andrew Watson, NCC News.

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (NCC News) – Halloween season is nearing, and the Spooktacular Stroll is back in the Syracuse area.

Galaxy Media Partners has taken over Long Branch Park in Liverpool to set up its fall fundraising event.

The half-mile loop has nine different areas, all decorated by a small team of just seven people.

“We have been working hard, we’ve been out here every day for the past few weeks,”  said event coordinator Morgan Bicknell.

The Spooktacular Stroll raises money for local organizations. This would not be possible without the team’s hard work.

Local schools can reach out to Galaxy Media Partners to create a specific code which allows members to purchase the $25 ticket.

Following the purchase, the organization will receive a $5 donation directly from the total ticket price.

“It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it to see all of the smiles on the kids’ faces,” Bicknell said.

This is not the first event that Galaxy Media Partners has created to give back to the community.

Earlier this year, the Moonlight Movie Series offered three double feature events that were free to the public.

These events are created with Central New York families in mind and to bring the local community together.

“It’s a great community event, we got all sorts of families to come in and it is truly a labor of love,” said Chief Operating Officer Carrie Wojtaszek.

The Spooktacular Stroll continues every Thursday through Sunday until Oct. 27 at Long Branch Park in Liverpool.
