FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS) — Jim Williams has voted in every election since he was 18 years old. The 2024 election is no different.
Williams made his way to the local library, which has been turned into a polling site, to cast his ballot.
“I came to vote in the presidential election primarily … Secondarily, I’ll vote for the local congressman,” Williams said.
Williams says he always tries to get out and vote each election cycle, as it is his civic duty.
“Voting is essential in America,” Williams said. “You can’t complain if you don’t get out and vote.”
Williams says every election always feels bigger than the last. Williams says this election follows that pattern with the presidential race and a key local race between Democrat John Mannion and Republican Brandon Williams for New York’s 22nd Congressional District.
According to Spectrum News, the Williams and Mannion race could be one that helps determine which party controls the House of Representatives.
