Mike Ciavarri: So this is a unique year where we’ve seen a lot of those questions and people with those needs to have those repairs done.

Gottlieb: This season did not only leave damage to roofs. CEO of the Home Builders and Remodelers of Central New York Mary Thompson says that people are looking to clean up the damage of the winter in their yards.

Mary Thompson: I know the, all the tree people, like Bartlett tree experts and those kind of folks who will help with branches that are stuck or things like that, they’re doing quite well because there’s been a lot of damage again with the tough weather.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS) – The snowy winter continues to impact the local community and their homes. More homeowners are looking to get their roofs repaired and yards cleaned as the weather gets warmer.

Roofing and construction companies are seeing an increase of need for their services.

“So this is a unique year where we’ve seen a lot of those questions and people with those needs to have those repairs done,” said Marshall Exteriors’ president of sales Mike Ciavarri.

This season left damage to not just roofs. Heavy snow loads and heavy winds resulted in fallen branches in homeowner’s yards.

“I know the, all the tree people, like Bartlett tree experts and those kind of folks who will help with branches that are stuck or things like that, they’re doing quite well because there’s been a lot of damage again with the tough weather,” said CEO of the Home Builders and Remodelers of Central New York Mary Thompson.

Thompson suggests that homeowners use a professional when getting work on their house done. The goal is to prevent construction problems and potential roof failures by using a professional.

“You really have to do your own homework to make sure you have a professional, unfortunately, there are those fly-by-night contractors out there that can really hurt homeowners,” said Thompson.
